My Maintenance Crew
We are recruiting for our next Internship Program!
We are offering 10-12 internships commencing early April ( we will lock in dates once we have confirmed referral numbers). The internships are unpaid* and are offered 3 days a week for four weeks. The interns will have the opportunity to develop their employability skills, gain OH&S knowledge, participate in team building and undertake real work experience through the completion of a project within the community. Our interns will be offered transport to and from work with pick ups and drop offs at central points throughout Geelong, they will be given lunch every day and will have the opportunity to work alongside our skilled team leaders to develop employability and practical work skills. They will also work with our youth support team to develop a work/career plan that will help identify short and long term vocational and personal goals.
(*if a young person is eligible they may be able come through the PaTH program giving them some extra money in their youth allowance for the period of the internship. Check with their job active provider)
After the four week internship, we will go through a recruitment process, with each of the interns having the opportunity to interview for a 6 month paid traineeship or casual employment. The traineeships will include a Certificate 2 in Construction Pathways and will be 3-4 days per week and will be paid above award wages. We are an employment project that supports young people at risk of long term unemployment to become work ready and prepared for long term employment. We want to support young people to become aspirational about work!
In addition to transport, food and uniforms, My Maintenance Crew offers counselling and mentoring support through the Engagement Coordinator role, resilience development, fitness, health and wellbeing support as well as the opportunity to earn a real wage.
If you have anyone that is ready and looking for work, 17-25 years old, has a White Card and wanting an opportunity to work as part of a team, send through their resume! We will be holding interviews for internships the week starting the 1st April and will commence the internships soon after.
