It's our Birthday!!!
21st June marks the 18th birthday of the LLEN! Through many changes to our funding structure, uncertainty, and changes in the Geelong landscape - we've made it to adulthood. And to celebrate this significant milestone in our history, we had our BEST EVER AGM on Wednesday (ok, we might be a bit biased).
It was a full house at the St. Mary's Library and Research Centre, as members, partners, stakeholders, Board and staff braved the freezing Geelong conditions to come and engage with us and our work over the past 12 months. Dr Fiona Gray, President of Creative Geelong and Director of Civic Collective, chaired an engaging and insightful 'conversation' between Jen Cromarty, CEO of Committee for Geelong, and Jack Nyhof, an 18-year old gig worker from Golden Plains Shire, about the challenges facing young people as they transition into the workforce, the role of the growing creative industries as a career pathway for our young people, and how business and industry can help support them. We also presented our Annual Report, a testament to the hard work of the entire LLEN team, and a wonderful representation of the breadth and depth of their involvement within the region.
Some photos from the AGM, plus a live video of Jen & Jack "In Conversation" is up on our Facebook page as well as on our website in our GALLERIES section
A digital copy of our Annual Report is now available on our website here
While you're at it, check out this video from City of Greater Geelong, promoting Geelong as a #clever and #creative region with loads of opportunities!
