Seeking Expression of Interest for Aboriginal Artist
Uniting VicTas is commissioning an original artwork for its Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP).
Emerging or recognised commercial Aboriginal artists are invited to submit an Expression of Interest by Wednesday 1 August 2018. Younger artists are encouraged to apply.
The themes we want our RAP artwork to relate to are:
a healing journey from crisis to recovery
Uniting’s journey of Reconciliation with Australia’s First Nations peoples.

Darebin Welcome Baby to Country 2018
he Darebin Best Start Aboriginal Reference Group invites children aged 0 – 3 years who identify as being of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent to a Welcome Baby to Country ceremony. This ceremony is for Aboriginal children who live or play in the City of Darebin. Flyer here

Rural Chances Vocational Scholarships are CLOSING SOON - August 10th 2018.
The 2019 MSRF Rural Chances Scholarship applications are closing soon on10th August. We hope you can share the following information about this great opportunity.
The Rural Chances Scholarships for vocational education are available to support students wanting to study at TAFE or undertake apprenticeships. Young people 16-24 years old can apply for a $2,000 scholarship to assist with the purchase of equipment, fees and tools of the trade necessary for vocational study, or a $5,000 scholarship to assist
them moving away from home or with travel expenses necessary to complete their qualification.
All scholarship recipients are offered ‘wrap around care’ in the form of transition and career mentoring, leadership development and network building opportunities.
Key Eligibility Criteria and process for Rural Chances Vocational Scholarships
Be eligible to apply (16-24 years of age; hold a Centrelink health care card; identify a TAFE Certificate III or IV qualification they would like to enrol in OR an apprenticeship)
Tell us your story and what you hope to achieve in the future (application can be written or video)
Care about rural Victoria and tell us how you might contribute to your community in the future
Explain how your future training will help fill a particular skills gap in rural Victoria
Tell us why you need this opportunity and how much it will cost
Provide one reference (written or video) to support your application; plus contact details for a second referee who can vouch for the need for these skills in rural Victoria/your community.
