The Outpost Inc is a registered Not-For- Profit Community-based organization created and existing for the purpose of providing material assistance to those less fortunate, particularly but not limited to, the provision of food aid and welfare assistance within the City Of Greater Geelong and its surrounds, from its premises in the Geelong CBD. The Outpost Inc. was established in February 1990.
The Outpost provides material assistance through the provision of hot and cold meals at lunch and dinner times , clothing and hygiene products and many other personal requirements to those who are homeless and people living in extremely poor circumstances.
The Outpost prides itself on assisting all clients with grace and dignity, and without fear or favor.
They have 33498 client contacts per year. Which equates to approximately 45000 meals .
Clients placed into emergency accommodation when available.
Lunch program 11.00am – 2.00 pm. Weekdays , Sundays 12.30 pm -2.30 pm Evening program every night of the year.
Over 70 volunteers (no paid workers). Running costs funded by Give Where You Live. Services include. Hot meals , hot and cold drinks , clothing , blankets and beanies , street swags , sleeping bags , personal hygiene products , haircuts , referrals to other agencies and a listening ear .
Meals cooked off site by volunteer cooks.
The committee of management is elected from our volunteers.
The only after hours service of its type in Geelong

Also note this year there is a change with National Close the Gap day which will no longer be coordinated by OXFAM but looks like ANTAR will take on this role - not officially confirmed.
