G21 Aboriginal Employment Initiative Project
Looking for work or a career change? Wan-Yaari Aboriginal Consultancy services have partnered with some fantastic organisations in the region to increase Aboriginal employment under the G21 Aboriginal Employment Initiative Project. The project has received funding from the Australian Government, Department of Jobs and Small Business and will work closely with organisations, employment service providers and the Aboriginal community in the G21 region to achieve employment outcomes and targets for organisations and the Aboriginal Community.
Successful jobseekers will receive culturally appropriate post placement support through Wan-Yaari's '3 Fires Aboriginal Mentoring Program' for the first 13-26 weeks of employment.
For all Aboriginal people who are interested in Aboriginal research and family history and would like to know more about what Aboriginal material and services are available at the State Library please book yourself into this event with the Koori Unit on 8664 7174 for further information.
This is a great opportunity to meet, chat and network with other Aboriginal researchers and hear and know about the services available from the State library and all those involved in the field.
Media Release from Jenny Mikakos
Minister for Familes and Children
Minister for Early Childhood Education
Young Victorians are being encouraged to step up and have their voices heard on issues that matter to them as part of next year’s Victorian Youth Congress.
Youth Affairs Minister Jenny Mikakos today opened applications for the 21-member congress, which will meet regularly to research, discuss and propose solutions to a range of priority issues they identify.
Applications are open to those aged 12 to 24, with the aim to establish a congress that reflects the diversity of Victoria’s youth.
This should include Aboriginal young people, LGBTI young people, those living with disability, as well as young people from culturally diverse backgrounds.
Applications close on Monday, 3 September, 2018.
Have a great weekend
